about

A labor of love a year-and-a-half in the making, Zeugma was a blast to write and produce. Originally conceived as a concept album taking place on a blimp, Zeugma grew and matured into its own being, evolving alongside its creator. After years of experimenting and modeling myself after other artists, I feel that this album is unquestionably Sean Lenox - it is my music at its most personal, crafted solely for my ears and written straight from my heart. After molding and shaping it for so long, I now feel comfortable enough to release it to the world.

Purchasing Zeugma gives you the album's seven tracks as well as four bonus tracks recorded during the period that didn't make it to the final cut: "Doppelschuss", "Anticonformacy", "My Friend Marshall", and a demo of "Metal Moral". A special edit of "Cherries for Cosmo" is also included.

"An amazingly creative and unique indie album."
-Avery

"If you ever quit making music I will PUNCH YOU IN THE THROAT."
-Steve

Track Name: The Agitator
Take in the air as the master prepares
Gauging the scene
He beckons, I follow, I press with my eye
See through his sight

Sun rays and airwaves converge for me now
Don't call me a chemist - I just turn this light into art

In pitch darkness my hands cut and fold
Scenes so warm with the fluid cold
Presiding over my brew, ingredients measured with care
the air disquieted

Science and progress converge for me now
Don't call me a chemist - I just turn this light into art

The master is pleased as the water recedes
Don't call me a chemist, but call me an artist
Track Name: Spreading Myself Thin
Windows into lives
Lives I've never known
Opportunity to make myself whole

Caught behind the screen
Screen me for a lie
I'm trying hard to make them think I think of them

It doesn't seem too hard
Too hard to connect
Just tell them all the things that they want to hear

Is that me?
Me and you
I forgot
The you, too

This conversation's dead
I'm spreading myself thin
I only need a moment to collect myself

I've not been in my head
I'm spreading myself thin
I only need a moment to correct myself

Nightfall, nightfall, nightfall
One more notch in the paint

I need to escape
I need no more friends
I can't hurt anyone if anyone's not here

Is that me?
Me and you
I forgot
The you, too

This conversation's dead
I'm spreading myself thin
I only need a moment to collect myself

I've not been in my head
I'm spreading myself thin
I only need a moment to correct myself
Track Name: Earth Ink
The rain is here, again
Bring out your buckets
Water prices are high this year
Hindsight is always biased
but I seem to remember a time
when we didn't have to do this

Left to our own devices
That sell for modest prices
I wish my wishing sea
could come and wash away this green

The world came down, today
It was quiet - not very many noticed
Those who did were already in jail
This is only natural progression for us
We will persevere

Somewhere deep inside me
A fear is spreading like a virus
Killing from below

Left to our own devices
That sell for modest prices
I wish my wishing sea
Could force them all to look at me

The big man's fraud was exposed by a brave soul today
But their 'terms of use' decree gives them legal immunity
I wish such things could not be done
But the bribes say more than I could

Their money stacks' so high that they can almost make a building out of it
I'm quite sure that's the plan
To build the emerald city high above the peons below
Truly a fit for the high-class man

The green line on the skyline reminds me of how petty
The numbers and the blunders of our race can be
Send them into space and their paper's all meaningless
Unless they're eating it

Left to our devices
That sell for modest prices
I wish my wishing sea
Could build a new community

Amongst the rubble a conference was held, today
And they've all agreed that change is good
We will persevere and keep on living here
Recent studies show that molten rock's the way to go

The inkwell has run dry
Just press your dry old brush to the paper and pretend
We're so entitled these days
Besides, it's cheaper this way
Track Name: Foxes & Dragons
And all your problems are a plate of glass
Let go and let your troubles pass
A peaceful place where I could sleep
And grow as in these dreams we meet

Universal mediation grows and breathes under silent moon
You and I could break these walls and fly to some inspiration soon

Go to bed
Go back to bed

Close your eyes with hope and need
You may catch a glimpse

Find me too and pull me through and
Grace me with your eyes

Go to bed
Go back to bed
Track Name: Cherries for Cosmo
I see him in the garden
With a light in his eyes
Old basket on his arm
Don't drop it - I say

He looks at me as he falls from his thoughts
Oh sorry, I was just
thinking about the old times again
And how they gave me a second chance, now

He's out by the old tree
Up by the hollow
Picking some lovely
Cherries for cosmo
No, I don't even
know if she likes them
But I don't care, he said
I don't care, he said

He reaches out with a hand
and puts a finger on the stem
He falters
and smiles

I admire his restraint
If that were me in there
I'd hold her tight and not let go
Not even if the good Lord told me so

He's out by the old tree
Up by the hollow
Picking some lovely
Cherries for cosmo
No, I don't even
know if she likes them
But I don't care, he said
I don't care, he said

I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back
I never dared to dream
I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back
I never dared to dream

And why would you?
Who would dare think such things
When life has been so cruel
to the kind

He's headed back inside
I know he's trying to stay calm
But he breaks into a run - I see him

He's out by the old tree
Up by the hollow
Picking some lovely
Cherries for cosmo
No, I don't even
know if she likes them
But I don't care, he said
I don't care, he said

I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back
I never dared to dream
I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back
I never dared to dream
Track Name: Zeugma
What goes up
must come down
What seems right
could turn around
I'm so far
from where you are
Could I come home
tonight?

Helium
Engine hum
Flying dreams
Not good ones
Ocean vast
endless sky
A beautiful place
to die

Zeugma
This air is growing older
My eyes are growing colder
My prison's name

Zeugma
This flight is growing longer
Resentment growing stronger
My only name

Remember me?
So carefree
Hop and skip
Board that ship
Not so now
I miss that ground
Keep me up
but down

Zeugma
The Earth looks so inviting
But what am I inciting
by tempting fate?

Zeugma
The sky and sea surround me
Compound me and they drown me
my angel's name

Zeugma
This flight is neverending
I'm tired of pretending
that I'm not afraid of you
Track Name: Robots Are Dope
A man at university
He told me robots are dope
What oversimplicity
How could anybody know?
Right now

Robots are dope
Are robots dope?
A question I can't answer here

Moving parts of stainless steel
We don't know if they can feel
It's a burning question of
sentience or a
chain reaction of
hate and war

Robots are dope
Are robots dope?
A question I can't answer here
