Motorcars 04:44
Behind the wheel and I'm barely alive I'm stuck in traffic on the 305 Trapped here in a prison cell With cupholders Radio's on commercial break How much longer could this possibly take Two right lanes closed off ahead And the line goes dead I know you're there Sitting and thinking About how much I care I call you "friend" Open your mind a bit for me And we'll start our cars again Another hour and I'm fading fast Dreaming of the highways past I'm woken up by a startling noise I heard your voice The wheels begin to move And slowly I will prove That getting to know me Isn't so bad I see you tonight Illuminated in my headlights You are my friend Jump in and have a seat with me And let's talk 'til sunrise

The answer, the question another selection the quips, and the phrases are going through phases I need a release from the bureau of hate and the people who watch them and silently wait So why not take a chance 'cause everyone fails and you're powerless against us as we sharpen a nail for you It's your time and place to lose So they'll get their progress into me and I'll see with new eyes 'Cause all of this insanity's a blessing in disguise But you never do them wrong so, why do you fear the law? All it takes is a hollow dream Set to run and reign supreme You hear the voices and the scoring is in But not everyone can win You can't find a way to fight us today It's so disheartening that they lead you astray If you still insist we might make a list And get around to it one of these days Now we go our separate ways So they'll get their progress into me and I'll see with new eyes 'Cause all of this insanity's a blessing in disguise But you never do them wrong so, why do you fear the law? We could never fight It will be alright

A man at university He told me robots are dope What oversimplicity How could anybody know? Right now Robots are dope Are robots dope? A question I can't answer here Moving parts of stainless steel We don't know if they can feel It's a burning question of sentience or a chain reaction of hate and war Robots are dope Are robots dope? A question I can't answer here

I see him in the garden With a light in his eyes Old basket on his arm Don't drop it - I say He looks at me as he falls from his thoughts Oh sorry, I was just thinking about the old times again And how they gave me a second chance, now He's out by the old tree Up by the hollow Picking some lovely Cherries for cosmo No, I don't even know if she likes them But I don't care, he said I don't care, he said He reaches out with a hand and puts a finger on the stem He falters and smiles I admire his restraint If that were me in there I'd hold her tight and not let go Not even if the good Lord told me so He's out by the old tree Up by the hollow Picking some lovely Cherries for cosmo No, I don't even know if she likes them But I don't care, he said I don't care, he said I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back I never dared to dream I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back I never dared to dream And why would you? Who would dare think such things When life has been so cruel to the kind He's headed back inside I know he's trying to stay calm But he breaks into a run - I see him He's out by the old tree Up by the hollow Picking some lovely Cherries for cosmo No, I don't even know if she likes them But I don't care, he said I don't care, he said I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back I never dared to dream I'm just glad, I'm so glad she's back I never dared to dream

Woke up this morning, saw the day was recognizably close Didn't think much of it, even though this one has nicer hairpiece than most And as we vote, and all these numbers rise Faces change and democracy dies Can't they see this love is blind Take another number and a place in time Just another fault to find If we look away it'll be alright Listen to me, all of you just need some time to think Where are these problems, all these claims about how we're on the brink Everything's fine, don't you watch the news? Now give me just a little money to use Can't they see this hate is blind Take another number and a place in time Just another fault to find If we look away it'll be alright I need to feel a little Precedent, president, who are you to represent?

Shelf Patrol 04:58
Hold me in With your breath Hold me in If it suits your pleasure I have been Engaging in something Hold me in The clarion call is here for something One more time Maybe you should let him in With your breath For a beggar's opportunity Hold me in You think it's easy Give me a sign that you were never there It's not like I can't take it Maybe with the right shoes You can run from my question The melting pot is boiling I think you need a different pan Here it comes with the strength of a thousand laces Maybe it's for the best If you told me I would have to waste it I would tell you that I'd eat your face Hold me in Press your hands against me now One more time To hold back the tide With your breath You can start a counterrevolution Hold me in If you dare

Ranger Dan 04:48
Ranger Dan spoke softly to the crowd Never had I heard a voice so loud You'd better listen, son He fought a tank and won He's Ranger Dan He told his tales of war and victory Leaving many marks on history With Panzerschreck in hand He protected sacred land He's Ranger Dan We'll take another, alright With Ranger Dan Felled an AT with a single punch Has a bowl of sauerkraut for lunch With infantry in tow All the other rangers know That's Ranger Dan We'll take another, alright With Ranger Dan He's only a man And nothing more

Windows into lives Lives I've never known Opportunity to make myself whole Caught behind the screen Screen me for a lie I'm trying hard to make them think I think of them It doesn't seem too hard Too hard to connect Just tell them all the things that they want to hear Is that me? Me and you I forgot The you, too This conversation's dead I'm spreading myself thin I only need a moment to collect myself I've not been in my head I'm spreading myself thin I only need a moment to correct myself Nightfall, nightfall, nightfall One more notch in the paint I need to escape I need no more friends I can't hurt anyone if anyone's not here Is that me? Me and you I forgot The you, too This conversation's dead I'm spreading myself thin I only need a moment to collect myself I've not been in my head I'm spreading myself thin I only need a moment to correct myself

I've got to get some sleep 'cause I'm so nervous I feel like I'm in here without a purpose The writing on the wall is pertinent But my energy is somehow spent I don't know why my body has betrayed me In some warmer place someone has laid me Maybe if I try Shake and hold my eyes Knowledge sacrificed I refuse to learn Will it last forever? Shake me from my sleep I have words to keep My never or will ever is forever It's fruitless 'cause my body always wins Stack the deck before the game begins Losing sight and falling out of mind Looking for a wall to hide behind I'm sorry but I try my best, why can't I be like all the rest They seem to have complete control and dance in time around the hole The hole is growing ever deep, cathedrals with their secrets keep If I keep them Shake and hold my eyes Knowledge sacrificed I refuse to learn Will it last forever? Shake me from my sleep I have words to keep My never or will ever is forever I've got to get some sleep Running from cathedrals and their glycerine embraces Maybe if they hang my feet my eyes will never shut Hanging from the safer cathedrals As I walk away I think of rubies that I missed My sight has found a habit that my body can't resist It's only natural to close my eyes to my mistakes But I could kill it all if I could keep myself awake, oh if only

The window is warm The morning is young With nary a bon mot on the tip of my tongue Silence and thought Tunnel vision Swimming with synapses and the day has begun Enter the friend Thinking with speed Churning and growing as they're talking to me Taken aback Rattle and hum Responses a million and I have to pick one I can't break my crystal habit Emboldened and crass Malapropos Jumping and breaking in where I shouldn't go Speak and then think What have I done? Communication breaking down into none I can't break my crystal habit I'm sorry

The bay is always filled with danger And problems at every turn After these narrow rescues You think humans would learn But it takes some canine creatures To show them right from wrong And to throw a life ring to them When they've been out too long And life is never fair So I don't know why I'm still blown away by this mistreatment It's not his fault People seem so versed in fire safety You gave him that water gun, didn't you? You sealed his fate My friend Marshall ain't respected In spite of everything he's done for you He ain't respected It's true My friend Marshall ain't respected In spite of all the cheering that he's done Maybe it's time to leave this old patrol and move on Maybe a ladder's not as versatile as a helicopter And maybe his feet are made of wax But he's got great heart And he's got great spirit How can you turn your backs? I'd like to see you try to find another pup who gets back up after falling off a mountain It's not his fault People seem so versed in fire safety You gave him that water gun, didn't you? So tell me why My friend Marshall ain't respected In spite of everything he's done for you He ain't respected It's true My friend Marshall ain't respected In spite of all the cheering that he's done Maybe it's time to leave this old patrol and move on In spite of all the cheering And all his partners jeering And all that painful falling And all those people calling And all that patient waiting And all that breath he's baiting Maybe he'll need me soon Maybe he'll need me My friend Marshall, come with me I'll take you in and give you all my love Come with me and you'll see That life doesn't have to be All unjust and unfair all the time Let's leave these pups alone And go home

Beige Dog 02:14
He took off on the wind of the dream But he couldn't do it alone For the job was too big for just one But two could hold the phone And he saw a beige dog running down the track With a mile to go He's got a plan in mind but he can't know Nobody knows He seemed to fight for good and right And he had the attitude Just think of what he's capable of Just think what they could do And he saw a beige dog running down the track With a mile to go He's got a plan in mind but he can't know Nobody knows Just think of all that they could do Just think of what it's like when they take off

about

NOTE: The "Keep it Together" tracks on this album (tracks 7 and 12) are free! Keep it Together is available for no-charge download, so I didn't dare charge for these tracks here.

This is a compilation album containing my most popular material over the past four years: Pause For Effect (2012), Keep it Together (2013), Sort Of (Not Really) (2013), Phases (2014), and Zeugma (2015) are all represented, along with two extra tracks. I felt that this would be an easy way for people to get into my music, as I tend to release albums quickly and quietly. After harvesting opinions from my friends and combing over stats, I determined that these tracks were the most well-received and squished them all into one collection.

Special thanks to:
Avery for introducing me to Mixcraft and starting my musical career.
Sarah for encouraging me to get more experimental with my music.
Nick for remixing my songs and helping to keep the indie music scene alive.
Moony for collaborating with me, supporting me, and inspiring me.
Aaron for giving me goals to strive for.
Dad for teaching me how to play bass.
Mom for exposing me to good music.
Everyone who purchased any of my music.
Everyone who listened to any of my music.
